SAVVY Kwatas

In the framework of our 11-days-long programme LET'S SIT DOWN TOGETHER AND TALK ABOUT A LITTLE CULTURE,  we cordially invite you to a presentation our team members Mokia Laisin and Abhishek Nilamber on SAVVY's current endeavours in building up SAVVY Kwatas in Cameroon and India.

SAVVY Kwata, metaphorically referencing a knowledge (SAVVY) quarter (Kwata) or living space, proposes a series of vis-a-vis interventions that manifest in various ways and forms across different regions and countries of the world in resonance with the mission of SAVVY Contemporary to connect, empower, support, promote and foster cross-cultural dialogue, research and education by means of the arts, community, and culture. It aims to develop tangible spaces and mediums of encounter or contact zones to facilitate the building of communities that will collectively work to create sustainable programmes, initiatives and projects to support art practitioners, cultural workers and the local community at large.

We believe that through creating such vibrant spaces of vis-a-vis exchanges the participants in these spaces gain a sense of self and otherselves, which enables them to take agency of their beings – beyond themselves.
