Tuesdays in the Library

Come, we work together!

The SAVVY.doc is a documentation centre and archive part of SAVVY Contemporary, which accommodates rare cultural and political publications from around the world, especially philosophies from the non-West. Our shelves are home to a multitude of written texts: critical theory and literature, art magazines, political analysis, exhibition catalogues and poetry collections, and a newly founded section dedicated to research around the notion of the sonic.

The SAVVY.doc is the result of the research and everyday practice of SAVVY Contemporary, and for this reason it is an archive “in the making” constantly enriched and in dialogue with all the rest of our activities - exhibitions, performance programs, readings and invocations, poetry and culinary encounters. We let ourselves grow through the dialogue with the myriad of contributors from different walks of life that engage with what we do.

After many years of archiving, organising, debating, receiving inputs, we feel the urgency to engage in further conversations and readings on and around books with the audience. Your visit is always welcome and you can reach out to us anytime. But starting from 12.03.2019, the archive will be open for the public every Tuesday from 10:00 to 14:00. Come in and experience our space, ask and give us suggestions, meet the books and the people working with them, live the archive and make it live!
