Ankersentrum (surviving in the ruinous ruin)

Archive Books and the German Pavilion are inviting to a presentation of the publication Ankersentrum (surviving in the ruinous ruin).

The publication is part of Natascha Süder Happelmann’s artistic contribution for the German Pavilion and was released in May on the occasion of the opening. Comprising a series of texts, drawings and photographs, it deals with unstable forms and possibilities of survival, tumultuous self-organisation, resistance and commoning in what could be called ruinous spaces: spaces that have created conditions or actualities that are irreversible or irreparable.

The editors, artist Natascha Süder Happelmann and curator Franciska Zólyom, will be present together with contributors David Jassey, Aino Korvensyrjä and Rex Osa. A discussion engaging with the content of the book will be followed by music played by Jessica Ekomane, one of Natascha Süder Happelmann’s collaborators for the sound installation tribute to whistle. After the conversation, Archive Kitchen will serve dinner to continue the discussion in a convivial setting, allowing the threads and thoughts to be followed further.
